What is the difference between straw hat lamp beads and patch lamp beads?

Both straw hat LEDs and SMD lamp beads are a common type of LED. They have some aspects that we don't know, apart from some obvious differences in appearance!

1, from the appearance point of view: straw hat-shaped LED lamp beads is a straw hat-like circular, so named, it has a longer pin, and LED LED lamp beads are mostly rectangular, no pin or only a short Pin, some of the high-power lamp beads hand patch is also round, with the exception of short lead;

2, from the light point of view: straw hat-shaped lamp beads more obvious visual angle, patch lamp beads less obvious;

3, from the soft light conditions: straw-shaped lamp beads more dazzling light, patch lamp light is softer;

4, from the perspective of the package lens: straw-shaped lamp beads lens is a hard transparent epoxy resin, SMD lamp beads are mostly soft transparent silicone;

6, from the power size point of view: straw-shaped lamp beads power is small, less than 0.5W less because it is not easy to heat. The patch lamp power can be made larger. For example, the 5050 packaged SMD lamp can achieve a 3W power, and the straw-shaped lamp can't.
